Welcome to the Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian School in Manchester!
We are one of the oldest Ukrainian schools in the UK and have been an integral part of the Ukrainian Community in the Greater Manchester area since the 1950s.
As a supplementary community school our primary aim is to encourage young people to learn and use the Ukrainian language and to promote Ukrainian cultural awareness. The curriculum includes Ukrainian language, literature, history and geography of Ukraine, and music.
The pupils also participate in annual concerts laid on by the school to mark St Nicholas’s Day (“Mykolay”), Mother’s Day and the Anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine’s foremost poet and the school's namesake.
Staffed by volunteers, and supported by an active Parents’ Association, the school is located at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Cheetham Hill, Manchester.

School registration for the 2023-24 academic year has been completed.
If you would like your child aged between 3 and 15 to study at our school in the future, please email us at info@manchesterukrschool.com, we will add your child to the waiting list and then send you information about registration and possible start.
